ROYAL NORFOLK SHOW 2014 OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER – NORFOLK EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER
Something completely different up on the blog today, some images from an absolutely fantastic couple of days as an official photographer at the Royal Norfolk Show 2014!
Having worked for Just Regional at the Worstead Festival and Aylsham Show in 2013, I was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to work at the Royal Norfolk Show. I absolutely love variety and fresh challenges and the opportunity to work in an official capacity at such a prestigious and important event for this part of England was something that I knew I’d relish.
Of course, opportunities like this don’t come along often or by chance and I’m heavily indebted to friend and ridiculously talented local photographer James Rouse for recommending me to the excellent Norfolk Showground team and ultimately getting me involved in such a fun and rewarding event.
Also, a big thank you to Sam, Kerry and the rest of their outstanding team for making my first experience so enjoyable and straight forward – the show was clearly a huge success due in no small part to your fantastic organisation and hard work. The final shot of this set marked the end of the Show and no doubt the start of an epic and well-deserved after-show party!
As for the event itself, well it blew me away. So much variety, so much going on. As a first-timer, the scale of the show was a big surprise and I must have covered many, many miles working in all corners of the Norfolk Showground across the 2 full days of shooting.
The first day was mainly reportage around the site while the second was more structured, capturing quite a few events attended by a warm and friendly Prince Edward, this year’s President of the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association (celebrating 60 Shows at the Norfolk Showground!). Overall it was a fantastic experience and one that I’ll be keen to repeat given the opportunity again. I hope you like some of the images and that they provide a feel for what is on offer at what is surely one of this country’s premier agricultural shows.
If you didn’t go this year, make a point of going along next year (1-2 July 2015!), there is something for everyone…..and maybe I’ll see you there……!
