ROB AND GEMMA’S CHRISTMAS WEDDING, SOUTHWOOD HALL – NORFOLK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
On 23rd December, I joined friend and highly experienced wedding photographer Patrick Watson for the Christmas wedding of Rob and Gemma, first at St Mary’s Church in Martham and afterwards at the immaculate Southwood Hall. As the second photographer, my work started at the church on what was surely the windiest day of 2013!
Running into Rob very soon after arrival, it was immediately clear from the warmth of Rob’s personality and the infectious banter between him and his groomsmen that the wind and rain was not going to be allowed to take the edge off this special wedding day. Working once again with the easygoing Patrick also made for a relaxing and fun assignment, even if the lighting (particularly the infra-red heaters in the church!) was the most challenging that I’ve faced to far. Having forced myself to work through this winter, I’m hopeful that my photography skills will have continued to improve and that the challenges I’ve faced will stand me in good stead as we head back into hopefully some better weather and light for my 2014 weddings.
Onto the images. Well, picking up events at the church and running through to the first dance and a little beyond, hopefully these few shots help paint the picture of a lovely festive wedding full of tears of joy and laughter. Even the reindeer played their part in surely some unique wedding group photographs! So, this was my final wedding shoot of 2013 and the my final trip out as a second photographer for some time. From here on in, I’m in charge and with a 2014 diary thankfully packed with stunning weddings with some fabulous couples, I’m set for what will be an epic first full calendar year in business. I can’t wait!
As always, thank you to Patrick for inviting me along and to Rob, Gemma and guests for making us feel so welcome.
