KATIE & SAM HAUTBOIS HALL WEDDING – NORFOLK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Today I thought I’d share some images from Katie and Sam’s incredible wedding day at the beautiful rural Norfolk wedding venue that is Hautbois Hall. Although now under new ownership, Hautbois Hall weddings are still under the care of the quite brilliant Cheryl Beeney who is unquestionably one of the loveliest, most organised and caring wedding planners/hosts that you could hope to meet. It’s always a pleasure to work at Hautbois Hall and that is in no small part due to the wonderful service that I know Cheryl and her brilliant team provide for everyone throughout a wedding day at their wonderful venue. On Katie and Sam’s day, Cheryl fought through a serious cold that would no doubt have hospitalised most men and contended with the wettest wedding day that I’ve experienced.
Katie and Sam live very local to me and having had the pleasure of meeting them both twice ahead of their wedding day, I knew this was going to be a very special wedding to capture and the perfect way to start my 2018 wedding season. While the weather did its best to test my rustiness with camera after the winter break from weddings, it didn’t actually matter one bit. Katie and Sam had the perfect attitude towards the day – live it in the moment, enjoy every second and relish whatever challenges the weather may throw at them. Despite it throwing it down all morning and making the planned outdoor ceremony unworkable, the rain held off for enough time to throw some confetti, grab a few group photographs and capture a handful of portraits with the iconic Hautbois Hall for a backdrop. After that, we really didn’t care how much rain fell. In fact, I could have hugged Sam and Katie when they wandered up to me in the rain after their wedding breakfast and asked if we could use the rain for some cool flash shots! I so love it when a couple don’t mind getting just a bit damp in order to create some interesting images that capture the nature of their wedding day. Katie and Sam were as game as any couple in this respect and I think their bravery and trust were rewarded by some perfect moments out there in the torrential late March rain!
As for the rest of the day, well it was perfect. A beautiful ceremony in the barn, which worked out really well. A short break outside for photographs and enough time to turn the barn around for the wedding breakfast and into an evening of partying with the soundtrack provided by the quite brilliant Abyss Wedding and Function Band. Hopefully the images below will provide a feel for just how appreciated the first set was! Superb!
Anyway, Katie & Sam will soon be making their way back from sunny Malaysia and hopefully welcomed home to a far more Spring-like UK! Safe travels guys and thank you once again for being so relaxed, fun and game! You’ve set the bar very high for my 2018 Norfolk Wedding season! x
Finally a special mention for the wonderful work of the superb florist, Ragged Robin from the town of Wymondham I now call home.
