With the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s been a long while since my last Norfolk wedding and even longer since my last engagement shoot. As a result, I’ve had little to add to my blog and focussed more on finding alternative ways to earn a living through my photography. Fortunately, the weather has been kind this summer and I’ve managed to find lots of families happy to escape lockdown and in search of someone to document some precious family time during this most difficult of years for everyone.
In amongst the family shoots, Judy and Eric got in touch having spotted my work while researching the possibility of visiting Norfolk for some professional pre-wedding photographs. Like so many couples, and complicated by overseas wedding plans, they’ve had to postpone their special day due to the pandemic and have even missed out once on a planned pre-wedding shoot in Wales. Hearing of their plans, and having chatted to Judy on the phone, I knew this would be a wonderful opportunity to capture a very in-love couple together in a beautiful location for the first time this year. It seems absolutely crazy to be writing that in August when I should now be 20 or so weddings into a busy season. Although we’d not met before, I could tell from the moment I saw Judy and Eric’s beaming smiles and easy chemistry that this would be a great evening. Despite not getting the sunset we’d hoped for, we enjoyed a fantastic couple of hours on Wells Beach enjoying the current heatwave and some lovely soft light. Judy and Eric were an absolute dream to capture, so relaxed, fun and candid and looking incredible together absolutely effortlessly. With minimal posing or direction and maximum fun, we covered a lot of beach and woodland and simply chatted and had fun along the way. I’ve really missed capturing in-love couples this year and this couple of hours is already an absolute highlight of 2020 for me. It helped remind me why I love photography so much and brought me into contact with 2 of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.
I’m going to leave the images to do the rest of the talking for me but before that a few incredibly kind word from Judy that mean a huge amount to me, particularly at this time. I can’t think of a more perfect testimonial. Thank you so much Judy and Eric – you were an absolute pleasure to spend time with and I really hope that you finally get to enjoy the wedding day you so long for and deserve once this most challenging of times is behind us.
