Hales Hall Barn Styled Shoot - Norfolk Wedding Photographer

Although I’ve been a Norfolk Wedding Photographer for 5 years, I was still to participate in a wedding ‘styled shoot’.  It’s not that I had anything against them, it’s just that they always seemed to fall during a busy part of the wedding season and I hadn’t previously had the capacity to support one.

That all changed on Wednesday when I was fortunate enough to work with the brilliant Rachel Haddon make-up artist.  Rachel, who is currently building her Make-up Artist business here in Norfolk, wanted to collaborate on some bridal portraits for use in her portfolio.  With hair by Gina Cook, stunning flowers provided by Elizabeth the Florists, beautiful dresses supplied by La Creme and with the incredible Hales Hall as the backdrop, this was too good an opportunity to miss.  Rachel had also arranged for the absolutely stunning Elle Harris to model for the shoot.

Although I’m very comfortable helping couples to look their best on wedding days, I’d not worked with a professional model before and this, combined with the fact that I’m a largely candid photographer, meant that I was actually a little nervous about this shoot (it was also my first shoot after the winter break).  Anyway, I needn’t have been. Rachel had done a wonderful job with Elle’s make-up and she of course looked amazing in 2 incredible wedding dresses.  Elle was also incredibly professional, effortlessly moving from one set-up to the next with minimal need for direction.  Although we didn’t have a great deal of time for the shoot, and only managed to explore part of the incredible variety of interior back-drops at Hales Hall, hopefully I’ve managed to help Rachel showcase her work.

The focus of the shoot was really on Rachel’s make-up work so the images below reflect that while hopefully giving a bit of a feel for amazing wedding venue that is Hales Hall Barn.  Unquestionably one of my absolute favourite venues, it was great to see it being so carefully prepared for the forthcoming wedding season and the very lucky couples who get to spend their wedding day there.  A very special Norfolk wedding venue run by the best team in the business, De’Ath Hospitality.  If you’re looking for the very best of Norfolk wedding venues and want to be looked after by the most professional hospitality team, Hales Hall Barn has to be at the top of your list.  I can’t wait to return for some weddings in 2019 and 2020.

So, here’s a little taster of the images captured over a couple of hours on a beautiful Spring day at Hales Hall Barn.  I may be a Norfolk Wedding Photographer but I’m now also a Norfolk Wedding Styled Shoot Photographer!  I’m hoping there’ll be future opportunities for such fun collaborations.  Norfolk is a small county in terms of wedding suppliers and it’s great to meet new like-minded people growing their own excellent businesses and supporting Norfolk brides and grooms in their quest for their perfect wedding day.

A massive thank you to Elizabeth the Florists, La Creme, Elle Harris and Gina Cook for your work and support for this shoot – I know that Rachel is hugely appreciative. Finally, an equally heartfelt thank you to the Hales Hall Barn for allowing us to use your wonderful venue as a backdrop to the shoot.  Hopefully, I’ll one day return for a similar shoot and do a little more justice to the incredibly beautiful and diverse range of backdrops you offer.
