Ellie and Nick Blickling Hall Wedding - Norfolk Wedding Photographer

ELLIE AND NICK BLICKLING HALL WEDDING- NORFOLK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Hi Andy,

Thank you so much for capturing so many beautiful and crazy moments from our wedding. It was just what we were hoping for….. and more!

I think we both knew we had found the right person to capture our day when we first came across your website. As soon as we met you we felt at ease, which was really important for two people who hate having their photo taken and don’t have a single photo of ourselves on display (yet!). Finally we have a selection of photos that we are truly proud to show off and we might even have to go frame shopping!

Even with a few teaser shots on Facebook you managed to make most of my family cry – I feared sending them the link to the full album! They are truly beautiful which is testament to your talent.

All of our guests commented on how unobtrusive you were and how you just seemed like another guest.

So thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we will certainly be recommending you to everyone who is in need of a wedding photographer.

Worth every penny 🙂

Best wishes,

Ellie and Nick”

Ellie and Nick enjoyed an absolutely wonderful wedding day in Aylsham and at incredible Blickling Hall back in mid-May.  Living only 5 minutes from Blicking Hall in the market town of Aylsham, this is about as close to home a wedding photography can get for me and it just so happens to be one of the most stunning backdrops for a wedding day that you could imagine.  Having previously worked at Blicking Hall and captured Richard and Kate’s stunning wedding ceremony in the beautiful Parish Church in Aylsham in 2014 (where did that 2 years go?!), I knew that I was in for an absolutely cracking day.  Nick and Ellie are an incredibly warm, friendly and relaxed couple who described my perfect kind of wedding day when we met for our consultation many months ago.  Dropping into Blickling Hall for a brief recce the day before their wedding, I bumped into them both putting their finishing touches to their amazing marquee on the fabulous lawn adjacent to Blicking Lake.  I’m glad to say that they were every bit as chilled 24 hours before their wedding day and their friends and family who were there helping with arrangements were equally fun and in party mood.

Ellie works at Blicking Hall and she and Nick recently moved into a National Trust cottage on the Blicking Estate.  The National Trust and particularly Blicking Hall clearly means a huge amount to them both and it was wonderful to be shooting a wedding in such majestic surroundings but that held genuine meaning to them both. After a morning spent largely with Ellie and family in one of the Blicking cottages, it was off to join Nick at the Aylsham Parish Church.  With Andrew Beane, Team Rector of Aylsham & District Team Ministry, leading Ellie and Nick’s wedding ceremony, I knew that we were in for a very beautiful ceremony that would be both relaxed and moving.  After a truly wonderful wedding, we all then headed back to Blicking Hall for an afternoon and evening of celebrations.  With a biting wind and unseasonably low temperatures, it was swiftly into the marquee for everyone after just a handful of formal photographs.  Despite the chill persisting into the evening, we were delivered some wonderful light in which to wander the grounds and to capture some informal portraits of Nick and Ellie together.  It really was extremely cold but Ellie was incredibly resilient and toughed it out looking absolutely stunning as we walked around the gardens that are so close to her heart. I’m always conscious that wedding days are about the people and not the photographs but I’m also always so pleased when couples make a little time in their schedule to go for a walk in the best light so that I can capture a few nice informal portraits in the best light of the day.  Long after the wedding day (when the hands have defrosted!), I’m certain that the short break for photographs will only bring back memories of a rare period for some reflection as a couple and will lead to a perfect photograph that’s worthy of a frame.

So here are a few images that hopefully tell the story of another incredible 2016 wedding day that will live long in my memory.  Ellie and Nick undoubtedly realised their vision for their perfect wedding day at a place that means a huge amount to them both.  To be trusted with capturing that most important of days for them both was a huge honour and one that I absolutely loved.
