CHAUCER BARN WEDDING – TOM AND VICKI – NORFOLK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
So, Saturday saw me return to an old favourite location at Chaucer Barn, in rural North Norfolk, for the wedding of Tom and Vicki. Chaucer Barn tends to attract very creative couples who want to really take control of every detail of their day and make it as personal as possible. I can’t imagine that many couples will have embraced this idea more so than the lovely Tom and Vicki – with hand-made picnic tables and gazebo, hand-made chalk boards and hand-carved signs and place names and ‘rule boards’, this really was a labour of love for Tom and Vicki over many, many months (years!). With so much love put into every aspect of their day, Chaucer Barn looked at its very best and their marquee once again an incredible sight to behold. For the last 2 weeks I’ve been blown away by what can be done to a simple marquee and how a simple field or meadow can be turned into a stunning banqueting hall.
Saturday morning was sadly a right-off in terms of the weather with wind and gales forecast (and delivered) until lunchtime – fortunately, despite scuppering plans for an outdoor ceremony under their gazebo, Tom and Vicki and their guests simply smiled, shrugged and got on with enjoying an amazing wedding day. From the outset, there were smiles all round and a relaxed and friendly vibe ensued. Almost as soon as the ceremony was completed in the barn, the clouds broke and Tom and Vicki were able to start to enjoy the day that they’d envisaged for so long. Garden games, some fun in board-shorts with Tom’s windsurfing-mad mates and a stunning BBQ feast in the meadow in the late afternoon sun, the terrible weather at the start of the day was very soon forgotten and a typical English summer wedding followed.
I’ll leave a just a few images to complete the picture for you – I’m back at Chaucer Barn again this Saturday for another relaxed wedding with Amy and Barry and will be praying for slightly kinder weather from the outset!
