CHAUCER BARN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY – NORFOLK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
After a visit to Chaucer Barn today (camera on me as ever) I just had to add a few words and images to my website.
I was visiting Chaucer Barn to have a chat with the excellent manager Laura Foster and to meet the owner James Mermagin. Aside from talking a little business, my main aim was to refresh my memory of this absolutely stunning wedding venue ahead of 3 wedding bookings here during 2014.
On 6th July 2013, I joined Luis Holden at the incredible wedding of Melissa and Richard on an absolutely scorching summer’s day. Unlike any other venue that I’ve been to so far, Chaucer Barn blew me away from the moment I pulled into the gravel driveway. Chaucer Barn is one of those places where the pulse immediately slows and a feeling of calm and relaxation takes over. Melissa and Richard’s wedding was pretty special with the ceremony held out in the meadow and, like all weddings at Chaucer Barn, it was designed by them and reflected their personalities and desires for their own unique and completely bespoke day. It’s this combination of peacefulness, intimacy, privacy and the ability to completely tailor a wedding day to suit your own tastes that sets Chaucer Barn apart and is the reason it would be shortlisted were I ever to marry again (no Mrs D, no secret plans, unless you fancy doing it all again?!). To me it’s immediately clear why it was ranked by the Independent newspaper as the 6th best wedding venue in the UK ahead of Claridges, Babington House and Le Manoir.
So, just a few images to give a flavour of why Chaucer Barn is so special. Bearing in mind that there’s so much more to come as the weather warms, the leaves arrive and flowers blossom. The building and its rooms are exquisite and just waiting to host so many fantastic weddings over the forthcoming wedding season – the whole venue just feels ready to be an immediate home-from-home for anyone fortunate enough to have secured a wedding booking at this most desirable and in-demand of venues.
Just a few miles from home and only a couple of miles from where my children go to school, run by lovely people and a place I’ll be photographing some very special weddings this year and hopefully well beyond, I’ll certainly be dropping by regularly to stay in touch with Laura and James, to keep and eye on developments in the house and gardens and to get a dose of that wonderful rural Norfolk calm that pervades this venue.
Meghan and James, Paula and Jon, Chloe and James, I can’t wait to join you back here in a few weeks’ time!
