CHAUCER BARN WEDDING – BEN AND BROOKE – NORFOLK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
If weddings were judged on the frequency and size of smiles, this would be a wedding of the year contender without question!
I absolutely loved this wedding day – a hugely warm and loving couple surrounded by equally friendly and relaxed friends and family in one of my favourite corners of North Norfolk, the beautiful and utterly unique Chaucer Barn. What a day – on a very wintry February day, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reliving the relaxed, rustic and rural vibe of this day as I’ve prepared this blog. After a break of a few weeks from wedding photography, and of course the warm weather, I’m craving days like this to return soon!
A fellow photographer friend of mine believes that some of the last minute bookings he takes prove to be the most enjoyable and successful – Ben and Brooke’s relatively late booking, which fortunately fell mid-week, certainly supports his theory. One of my first bookings to come from Twitter (which, I have to admit, I know little about), Ben’s lovely mum Helen (who certainly does understand Twitter!) played a big part in helping Ben and Brooke pull together a completely bespoke and beautiful wedding in a comparatively short space of time. From the moment Ben, Brooke, Helen and Ben’s dad Tim visited to chat through their plans and to see if I was suited delivering the style of images they were seeking, I knew this would be a cracking assignment.
Although I love the variety that multi-location weddings can provide in terms of backdrops and light, there’s something great about being able to pull up at a location, early in the day, unpack the car and set about capturing everything from bridal and venue preparation all the way through to the party without missing any action while packing up or driving between locations. It certainly makes for a less stressful day for everyone and, in my experience, really helps everyone settle in and enjoy the day that little bit more. And, this is how it was for Ben and Brooke. A stunning summer morning of gradually building excitement and preparation ahead of an amazing ceremony in the meadow followed by a stunning meal adjacent to the barn and an epic party once again to the superb Joe Ringer Band (who, late that night, enjoyed the help of Brooke’s brother, Matt, on lead vocals!).
I’m going to let the images take over because I could ramble on all day about this wonderful wedding. I have to sign off though by thanking Helen for finding me, Ben and Brooke for asking me to capture their day and to everyone who was a part of this special wedding and who made me feel so welcome. It was a real privilege to be a small part of your day.
