Warning! If you’re feeling hungry, avoid this blog post at all costs!
However, if you’re craving some love and happiness in the most beautiful of settings and on a wedding day that actually resembled Summer, then come on in! I think this was the warmest day of 2019 so far and it may well turn out to be as good as summer gets at this rate!
I’ve neglected my blog this year so thought I’d use yet another rainy day to sit behind the computer for a little longer and share just a few of my favourite images from Adam and Bronagh’s absolute stunner of a day a couple of weeks’ ago.
The day started in Lowestoft at Bronagh’s family home and ended at Hales Hall Barn via a beautiful ceremony in Beccles. Working with friend and quite brilliant wedding videographer Mike Reid of Capture Media (but I believe soon to re-brand!) is always an absolute pleasure and we both grinned widely as we joined Bronagh and her family and bridesmaids at the family home; a perfect and stunning setting for a very relaxed morning of preparation, exchanges of gifts and a little bit of pool action!
The church ceremony in Beccles was equally special with guests arriving by three red buses looking glorious under deep blue clear skies. Mike and I were able to record the ceremony discretely from the front of the church and again felt so privileged to be able to witness such a special moment for another absolutely lovely and deeply in-love couple.
The final stop of the day was a personal favourite wedding venue, Hales Hall Barn. I worked here for the first time in 2013 and it immediately felt like home. Walking through the gates on arrival, it’s so nice to always be greeted with a smile and an offer of assistance from the wonderful hosts De’Ath Hospitality. Always attentive but never officious, they strike a wonderful balance between keeping the day on track but allowing couples and guests to feel relaxed and not pressured into following a rigid set of timings. It’s a fine balance and many venues struggle to match the way that Briony and Emily guide things along discretely and with a light touch.
I started by mentioning catering so I have to warn you that catering in Norfolk doesn’t get much better than that provided by Florentina Events. I’ve worked alongside Jake and Annabelle at many weddings over the last 5 years and I’m consistently blown away by the quality of their work. Everything from the warmth of their hosting, the politeness of service and most importantly the presentation and quality of their food is exceptional. Without doubt they’d be on my short-list of caterers if I ever find myself planning an event in Norfolk.
As hopefully the images will show, following Adam and Bronagh’s arrival in Adam’s dad’s classic Austin Healey through a storm of confetti, the day was absolutely packed with love and laughter. Although a first meeting for many of the guests and families, with many family members on Bronagh’s side travelling from Ireland, it felt like everyone was immediately friends such was the incredible atmosphere surrounding this so lovely couple. A superb set of speeches after dinner in the incredible barn was followed by a few ‘portraits’ in the immaculate gardens and shortly after the beginning of the real party. I left behind a packed dance-floor and a feeling that, again, I’d been asked to capture another truly stunning wedding day for 2 of the nicest humans you could hope to meet and 2 people you can just see were so meant to find each other.
I absolutely don’t need reminding of it, but especially on days like these, I really do have one of the best jobs in the world.
A huge congratulations again to Bronagh and Adam and a big thank you and shout-out to the team below!
