About Me
Although I'd rather it wasn't!
In brief, I’m a family man with a passion for photography and people. Documenting wedding days and delivering images that I know couples will cherish for the rest of their lives means I absolutely love my job.
"It's more important to click with people than it is to click the shutter" - Alfred Eisenstaedt
If the above isn't enough (and I'm not quite as short as the picture above makes me look!), thank you for hanging around and getting this far.
I will try to keep this brief as this really is all about what I can hopefully do for YOU, and not about me. I live with my family just to the south of Norwich and I consider myself hugely fortunate to be able to do something that I love as a full-time profession.
Although I enjoy most forms of photography, my passion is photographing people and capturing images that are packed with personality and genuine, candid human emotion. While I have always loved capturing ‘still’ images, my love for photography really took off at the dawn of the digital photography age which coincided with the arrival of my first child.
In 2012, I decided to leave behind a hugely rewarding career as an RAF Officer to follow my heart and pursue my passion for photography. Having served all over the world, including the Falkland Islands, Norway, Cyprus, Iraq and Australia, my wife and I decided that it was time to settle down and provide stability for our children. I'm still in contact with many of my former RAF colleagues and consider myself hugely fortunate to have enjoyed so many incredible experiences during my time in the forces.
Our decision to re-locate to Norfolk was largely based on possessing so many happy memories from serving with the RAF in the region and also having so many former colleagues and family members already settled nearby. As it turns out, it was a great decision, I absolutely LOVE being a Norfolk Wedding Photographer.
As a photographer, I was quickly drawn to weddings and the opportunities to document the personalities, relationships and emotions that come with every wedding day. With 10 wedding seasons and the experience of 100s of weddings behind me, I can honestly say that I could not have chosen a better second career.
I firmly believe that the best photographs are achieved when there is trust and rapport between subject and photographer and I've found over time that I'm fortunate to be able to quickly establish both as I work. Without a doubt, when photographing people, that ability to 'click' with people is fundamental to consistently successful images and it's central to how I work.
When I’m not out taking photographs, I love family and friend time, music (BBC 6 Music is my editing soundtrack), surfing (raised in Devon and lived in Australia and still terrible!), paddle-boarding, running, skiing, travel, good food (particularly anything with the essential ingredients of chilli and garlic) and warm, flat beer. I also love teaching and offer training and mentoring to wedding photographers looking to start their own businesses or wishing to take their skills to the next level.
Please do have a look around my galleries and blog while you're here and, if you like what you see, feel free to get in touch for a very informal consultation. I’d love to hear about your plans.

One of the best days of my life
'Some' years ago!
Although I much prefer the candid images that are so much more possible in the digital era, we still look back regularly at our own wedding photographs and reflect upon one of the best days of our lives, grateful that we decided to make photography our single biggest investment in the day, beyond the venue. The flowers have long since wilted, the uniform now a little tighter and the venue now closed - our treasured photographs remain and are the only way to transport us back to that very special day and to share memories of it with our children and maybe one day grandchildren.

Me and My
Choice of Equipment
If you'd like to know a little more about me, my journey into photography and the equipment that I use for my work, I was hugely privileged to be invited to feature on 'ShotKit - The Gear of the World's Best Photographers". The link is below.
